OUR BRIEF STORY... WHY GIDDY2SCHOOL?

...after months of research culminating into years of the Needs Assessment Survey, we kickstarted on the 1st of June, 2022.

The project was originally titled “Repeater’s Survey and Intervention.” And here is an overview answering the “why” of the project.

In the 2020/2021 academic session of the Lagos State School Calendar year. In a case study, in one of our schools, a total of 61 students performed woefully and by school mode of operations were asked to repeat the class. 5 of these 61 came back to retake the class, while 56 dropped out of school. The matter became worse when the statistics of other schools of the country were released.

On a closer look, we saw fire on the mountain... The high out-of-school index of Nigeria among adolescents and youth of secondary school age has hardly reduced in 20 years. It was recorded that the out-of-school population in this age group has rapidly increased by 61 percent, from 6.3 to 10.1 million, and is expected to go on the rise in the coming years.

On the convergent level of brainstorming, there is a need to integrate an inclusive dose, as there is no 'one size fits all solution. Having gotten approval and authorization from the stakeholders, we launched the Intensive Care Unit, piloted and test run the Value proposition, which comprises of ;

  1. Academic Revamps/ Tutorials

  2. Academic and Career Mentorship

  3. Palliative Interventions.

Voila, GIDDY2SCHOOL was birthed, and we cannot wait to give the world our best through QUALITY EDUCATION...

We have reached over 1200 low-income community children and equipped them with the Education for Sustainable Development curriculum, life empowerment skills, palliatives and career mentorship.

Future Goals

We look forward to reaching 5000 low-income community children in our next community engagements, to cultivate a 100% vigorously thriving learning environment, and where learning engagements are designed to give the best to the students, in terms of quality education, palliative interventions, wide-range global exposure, opportunities, and rich learning experiences to the attainment of a quality life.
